On our way to Harrison Hot Springs. Very nice weather!
Lots of red crops.. Grapes for wine!? Hee, I like this picture... Has a Mazda zoom-zoom feeling! =)
First stop, Westminster Abbey at Mission: Seminary of Christ the King
Very beautiful structure
It's a place where missionaries live and 'train'
Second stop: Xa:ytem Longhouse Interpretative Centre at Mission
Some kind of traditional housing for first natives
Arriving at Harrison Hot Springs
Arriving at Harrison Hot Springs visitor centre. It's really a very small town.
Where we had lunch. There's no McDonalds here. Only local hamburgers! That's pretty cool in itself.
Community event board... Why did I take a pic of this? Coz it reminds me of the video game Harvest Moon =)
The main attraction at Harrison Hot Springs: the public pool with hot spring water. We went there once during our stay. It's way too hot (and boring) to my taste, haha.
A view of a part of the beautiful village of Harrison Hot Springs. Surrounded by mountains. And the sand sculpture competition, our second main attraction at Harrison.
Undersea
Very real looking teddy bear
From another sculpture... VERY real-looking money!
This was named.... “mother and son” I think... see if you can see them? I like the letters the most tho!
Quilt made of sand
Undersea castle
HUGE sand castle
Rabbit from Alice in the Wonderland
Turtle against a glass tank! This was amazing!
I like the idea of this.. Can you see the hidden image? (hint: look near the centre). And again, I loved the fonts, haha.
Back of the sculpture
This was another one with an interesting concept: “working under pressure”
Why not push the button??
Because on the other side.... are air-inflated stuff made of sand!!
The foot is a bit too real..
Retired superman...
Old spiderman... Horrible...
Very abstract... Can you guess what this is....? Answer: hurricane blowing down trees!
This one was titled “Deep sleep”... I wouldn't wanna sleep like that with...
Funny as it sounds, but I liked this one because it reminded me of my biology classes ;)
Pretty amazing sand sculpture.. Look at how thin those bridges are!
Beatiful church. Look at how real those bricks look. And this is all done by one person!
This one is also very cute... Don't know why it feels very CS...
Two bears enjoying the scenario from our hotel room
“A bear and the lake”
A look at our very nice hotel room
Kitchen area
Dinner at Crazy Fish Bistro
Driving by lots of cows to start our second day
One of the many farms that we passed by
Zoom, zoom, zoom...
Got lost several times before we got to this place driving back and forth through the mountain (AND across a very scary wooden bridge for cars)
Very cute signs
The spawning creek with LOTS of salmon
Sockeye!
Water was too shallow for the big salmons
Bearbear with the salmons
Me and the salmon
This is the counting shed... A person sits inside the house to decide whether the salmons are allowed into this spawning area... I can't imagine the job..
Second attraction of the day: Kilby heritage farm
We had a very homestyle lunch there. It's very good: beef stew and scone.
Home style hot chocolate!
Visiting the general store after lunch... We later found out they're having a halloween event soon and I thought to myself, it'd be WAY too scary, haha..
Inside the heritage general store... Many interesting items from the 1900s.
Lots of stuff hung from the ceiling of the store
VERY old cashier
Old postoffice
Old kitchen
Don't recall the technical term for this.. But those who study music must be as amazed as I am to see this old instrument! =)
That little goat is Hannah. She's VERY cute.. keeps following ppl around like a puppy!
Little kid feeding little goat
This is Hannah's big brother... He keeps desperately try to get us to feed him.
And because it was so aggressive, other goats could only look.. Haha, luckily Rita thought of a way: we fed both goats at the same time.
Ducks inside the farm
And pigs
And chickens...
And rabbits...
And cows...
On our way back to the hotel, we bought some hazelnuts which were supposed to be quite famous in this area of BC
Hazelnuts and Totoro!!
Bearbear napping while we go for a dip at the public pool
Bearbear and mochi by the fireplace... wait wait wait..
Japanese restaurant at Harrison Hot Springs. We were a bit worried at first, but it turns out to be surprisingly decent.
Sushi!
Third day was a rainny day, we went to Chilliwack to rent some DVDs and got some groceries, and took a walk to the Harrison Hot Spring source.
Smoke! Could that be it?
Getting closer and closer to the smoke...
It really is the water source!!
Can you feel the heat?
Bears waiting to watch DVD (rented ALL the way from Chilliwack!)
Part of our dinner: baby caesar, what a cute name, haha
Me cooking.. (instant noodles)
Our BIG dinner in our hotel room!
